A sinkhole opened up Tuesday in one Ocala neighborhood, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.

At about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, County emergency management officials responded to reports of a possible sinkhole at the intersection of Rolling Greens and Pebble Beach.
"Somebody found it this morning and just passed the news around, so I got curious and had to come see it," said Bob McCormick, who lives nearby.
"Bigger than I thought it was, where there’s one there’s going to be a lot more," McCormick continued. "It's just the nature of the ground in Florida there's not much you can do you just have to live with it. I certainly hope it doesn’t come close to our house."
Residents of a home about 20 feet away from the sinkhole were voluntarily evacuated, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The sinkhole is estimated to be 30 feet long and 15 feet deep.
According to deputies, the hole is located on private property and not a county-owned road.
The homeowner’s association and property management notified experts, who have been assessing the sinkhole.
The intersection is closed to traffic.
