Sumter County deputies are looking for Terrance Kwamaine Williams of Wildwood, who is charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Williams, 21, is considered a suspect in a homicide case in which a woman's body was found around 11:18 a.m. Sunday on the side of County Road 231 in Wildwood. Investigators don't think the woman, 35-year-old Barbara Lynn Grubb, was hit and killed by a vehicle; rather, they said she suffered critical trauma to her upper body and described her death as suspicious.

Homicide detectives are hoping an autopsy set for Monday will provide more clues.

“I hope they find the person that did this to her, because it’s not right,” resident Brenda Reed said. “This town is so small, and everything that goes on here is uncalled for.”

Neighbors said the area has seen its fair share of incidents in the past, but they are still surprised at this latest discovery.

If you know something about this case, you are asked to call the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at 352-793-2621 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
