Officials said a deputy noticed a vehicle speeding on Maricamp Road and attempted a traffic stop.

The driver, Carl Floyd, fled from the deputy and officials said during the pursuit, Floyd threw drugs from the car window.

Floyd was eventually pulled over and taken into custody.

Officials said a K9 deputy located the marijuana that was thrown from the window. Floyd also had a stolen gun inside the vehicle, officials said.

Floyd is charged with fleeing and eluding, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a stolen firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, violation of a driver’s license restriction, and a warning for speeding.
