More milestones are taking place this weekend for the "I-4 Ultimate" project in the heart of downtown Orlando.

Overnight Saturday to Sunday, a new eastbound traffic shift will take place between South Street and Colonial Drive: Three lanes will move onto temporary bridges.

By moving traffic onto the temporary bridges, crews can begin demolishing the existing bridges and construct new ones in downtown Orlando.

Motorists should expect multiple lane and ramp closures Saturday night and Sunday morning.

The eastbound I-4 entrance ramps from westbound State Road 408 and Anderson Street will be closed from 10:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Instead of entering eastbound I-4 from Anderson Street, use Garland Avenue and travel north to connect with I-4.

If you are traveling on westbound S.R. 408 and need to get on I-4, exit at Rosalind Avenue (Exit 11A), and make rights on South Street and Garland Avenue to get to I-4.

In addition, the eastbound I-4 exit ramp for Amelia Street will be closed from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. However, the South Street exit about a mile before Amelia will still be open. Use that exit and follow Garland Avenue to your destination.
