A boil water notice has been issued for parts of Mount Dora after lightning struck a cast-iron water main on Tuesday night, city officials stated.
- City advises residents to boil water thoroughly, then cool it before use
The areas that have been issued the boil water notice are:
- 700 Block of Old Eustis Road to Donnelly Street
- Stewart Lane
- Forest Road
- Suzanne Drive
- Overlook Drive from Old Eustis Road to Normandy Drive
- Dogwood Mountain and Reserve
The city advised that all drinking water should be "brought to a full rolling boil" for one minute and people should let it cool down before using it.
While the water main has been repaired, the city is waiting for lab results before they can lift the notice.
