  • Deputies: Man damaged 2 Sheriff's Office patrol vehicles

Andrew Humphries was walking naked down the 8900 block of the roadway in Ocala at about 8 p.m. Wednesday after a vehicle crash, the Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies called to help Fire Rescue personnel with the crash learned en route that the driver of one of the vehicles walked away from the scene. One of the deputies soon found Humphries and made contact with him.

Due to his erratic behavior, the deputy handcuffed Humphries and put him in the back of his patrol car, the Sheriff's Office said. That's when Humphries kicked the rear passenger door and pulled on the metal cage, causing $1,000 in damage. He was taken to Marion County Jail.

Additionally, witnesses to the initial crash told Florida Highway Patrol troopers that when Humphries left the crash scene, he walked up to a Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle at a nearby office and pulled the door handle off the car. When he couldn't get inside, he urinated on the vehicle, witnesses said. The Sheriff's Office said the damage to that car was about $700.

Troopers are still investigating the initial crash.
