Our July 2017 was warmer than normal with slightly above normal rainfall across most of Central Florida. 

Most sites across Central Florida had average temperatures that were 1 to 2 degrees warmer than normal. That means that some were in the top 10 warmest on record.

In fact, Melbourne ranked in as their 2nd warmest on record. It was just two tenths of a degree away from their record warmest July set last year.

Orlando was a bit of an anomaly with a monthly average temperature that was near a half a degree below normal.

Here are the numbers: 

Orlando had a monthly average temperature of 82.3 degrees. That was 0.4 degrees below normal.

Daytona Beach had a monthly average temperature of 82.8 degrees. That was 1.2 degrees above normal. This ties 1981, 1969, and 1930 as the 7th warmest July on record.

Melbourne had a monthly average temperature of 84.3 degrees. That was 2.6 degrees above normal. This ranks as the 2nd warmest July on record for this site.

Vero Beach had a monthly average temperature of 83.3 degrees. That was 1.6 degrees above normal. This ranks as the 4th warmest July on record for this site.

How about monthly rainfall?

Orlando received 10.60 inches of rain for the month. That was 3.33 inches above normal.

Daytona Beach received 6.20 inches of rain for the month. That was 0.37 inches above normal.

Melbourne received 7.59 inches of rain for the month. That was 1.63 inches above normal.

Vero Beach received 5.37 inches of rain for the month. That was 0.26 inches below normal.
