Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground has been closed since Hurricane Irma hit Central Florida.

  • Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground to reopen
  • Resort closed after Hurricane Irma caused damage
  • Shows at the resort also canceled

Cleanup efforts are underway at the Disney World resort as crews clear downed trees on the property.

Disney World plans to reopen the resort sometime next week, according to an update posted on its website.

“We anticipate that Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will reopen next week, but it remains closed at this time as we clean up the property following the storm. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge remains open.”

Disney has yet to announce an official reopening date.

All shows at the resort--Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue and Mickey's Backyard BBQ--have been canceled through Sept. 19, according to the update.

Disney World closed all its parks and Disney Springs on Sept. 10 and Sept. 11 in anticipation of Hurricane Irma. The parks and Disney Springs have since reopened.
