Holly Gregory can be seen anchoring Bay News 9's weekend morning news and reporting during the week from Bay News 9's Pinellas County newsroom.
Holly is originally from Bluffs, a small town of around 800 people in central Illinois. Holly graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City.
She began her expansive career as an anchor and reporter at WGEM in Quincy, Illinois. She then was an anchor/reporter at WHO-TV in Des Moines. From there, she moved on to CBS2 in Chicago to be a general assignment reporter. She also was an anchor at CLTV News in Chicago. Most recently Holly was a reporter at WGN News in Chicago.
Being a reporter in a city as large as Chicago, Holly has covered some major news events. She helped cover the 2004 Iowa Democratic Caucus, and the federal corruption trial and conviction of Illinois Governor George Ryan. Another large news story was the arrest of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich on federal court charges. She also extensively covered the campaign and election of Barack Obama.
Holly is the mother of three young boys. She relocated to the Tampa Bay area with her husband and boys. Her parents also relocated to be close, so Tampa Bay is everyone’s new home. Holly thinks Tampa is a great place to raise children and they are excited to not have anymore Chicago winters!
Holly enjoys swimming, walking and yoga. Her boys are her pride and joy. Between the chaos of news and the endless energy of her three boys, Holly relies on yoga to keep her sane!
