Leah Masuda, Reporter

Leah Masuda is a general assignment reporter in the Pasco County bureau.

Leah joined the team after heading up her own bureau at KCOY/KKFX in San Luis Obispo County, California. It was there where she covered everything from high-profile murder cases to nuclear power plants.

During her two years at KCOY/KKFX, the central coast of California became a target landing spot for Mexican cartels to smuggle drugs by boat. She traveled up and down the California coast investigating the smuggling rings. Those investigations included being on the ground with the National Guard for night vision ops and searching with law enforcement for smugglers on the ground.

Leah considered the people in San Luis Obispo County her family and friends. Her goal was to inform her county in every aspect. She brings that same commitment to Pasco County.

Leah always knew she wanted to be a journalist and after high school attended Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. There she was trained by award winning journalists and met her husband Cameron and adopted her dog Boo.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, she is excited to explore and call the Tampa Bay area home. During her free time you can find her and her family at the beach or hitting the links.
