A local woman reunites with her three sisters after 42 years- Wednesday.
Summer Smith, Reporter
Summer Smith is a general assignment reporter based in Bay News 9's Manatee County bureau.
Smith began her broadcasting career as an intern working on ABC's 20/20 in New York City. She then worked as a producer at the ABC affiliate in Tallahassee, Fla., followed by other producing stints at Florida's News Channel in Tallahassee and right here at Bay News 9.
After leaving Bay News 9, Smith worked as an anchor/reporter at the CBS affiliate in Grand Junction, Colo., the CBS affiliate in Beckley, W.V., and the WB affiliate in Tampa. She's now thrilled to be back at Bay News 9.
Smith holds a bachelor of science degree in communications from Florida State University and a master's degree in broadcasting from Florida A&M University.
Smith is a Manatee County native and still has strong ties to the area. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, boating, trying out new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
