Tim Wronka, Pasco County Reporter

Tim Wronka is an award-winning reporter who joined Bay News 9 in June 2017. However, he is no stranger to Tampa Bay.

He went to East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs. He then stayed in the Sunshine State for college, graduating from Florida State University. Go 'Noles!

After school, he was a news and traffic anchor for AM 820 in Tampa. In 2009, he moved to Miami to work for Metro Networks, where he reported news and traffic on radio and TV stations across the state of Florida, including traffic on Bay News 9! He also flew in Metro's helicopter, shooting video for the local TV stations.

In 2011, he got the itch to try TV full time and moved to Harrisonburg, Virginia in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley as a reporter for WHSV-TV 3, the local ABC station. He also co-anchored their 10:00 newscast every night.

In 2012, he moved to the ABC station in Richmond, Virginia, 8News WRIC. Among the big stories he was covered was the disappearance and murder of UVa student Hannah Graham from Charlottesville. He also covered sports, including the Washington Redskins Training Camp.

In 2015, he married his wife Anna and decided he missed Florida. He got a job with NBC-2 in Ft Myers, where he earned an Edward R. Murrow Award for his coverage of a fatal police shooting in Punta Gorda during a citizens academy event. He also covered the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando.

He grew up in East Hanover, New Jersey near NYC before his family moved to Tampa Bay in high school. His family still lives in Palm Harbor, so he considers Tampa Bay home!

He loves all sports, especially college football. He is a season ticket holder to FSU football games. He's been a Disney fan his entire life and he still spends a lot of time in Disney World. He also enjoy movies, reading and spending time with friends and family.
