Veronica Cintron, Evening Anchor
Veronica Cintron is the Emmy award-winning anchor of Bay News 9's Your Evening News, covering the day’s big stories Monday through Friday starting at 5 p.m.
Her reporting has taken her to Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, Panama, Cuba and Holland.
Some highlights of Veronica’s work include covering the inauguration of President Barack Obama, the election of Massachusetts’ first African-American governor, the 100th anniversary of the Panama Canal and the Florida Orchestra’s historic cultural exchange with musicians in Havana, Cuba.
Since joining Bay News 9 in 2010, Veronica has won the Suncoast’s Best Anchor Emmy and the Florida Society of Professional Journalists’ Anchor of the Year award. She is also the recipient of 2 Associated Press awards and multiple Emmy nominations for her anchoring and reporting.
Prior to joining Bay News 9, Veronica was the evening co-anchor at western Massachusetts' #1 rated NBC affiliate.
Veronica was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She is a graduate of the University of South Florida. In her free time, she works with numerous Tampa Bay non-profits throughout the year.
Veronica and her husband recently welcomed a daughter into their family, and they are proud to call Tampa home. She enjoys traveling abroad, reading, checking out new restaurants and spoiling her Shih Tzu Gizmo.
