The iconic Reunion Resort is expanding. A new luxury vacation community branded and themed around world famous golfer Jack Nicklaus is coming to Osceola County.

  • Reunion Resort creating new vacation community
  • Bear's Den Club will be inspired by golfer Jack Nicklaus
  • Vacation home prices run $700,000 to $3 million

Reunion resident Fabio Silva said he's excited about it all being tied to the Golden Bear himself.

"Originally from Brazil and we're soccer players -- when we compare Jack we compare Jack to Pelé," Silva said.

The vacation homes will surround the 18th hole at the Reunion Resort, part of the golf course Nicklaus himself helped design.

Jim Bagley, the owner of Citi Communities LLC, said this project will costing about $50 million. Bagley expects the development to bring in a revenue of double that amount, about $100 million.

Homes at Bear's Den Club will range from $700,000 to $3 million.

"As you know, Osceola is very interested in their tourist development tax base,” Bagley explained. “So all of these homes will contribute to the tourist development tax and grow more themes and more opportunities for Osceola County as a resort destination."

Nicklaus is also getting his own house on property.

"But we'll also have a very exclusive, private club with a lot of Jack's memorabilia from the best playing career a golfer has ever had,” Bagley said. “So it will be an opportunity if you are Jack fan which most of us are."
