Three people were rescued when their boat began sinking near Egmont Key, the Coast Guard said.

According to reports, someone aboard the 25-foot boat contacted the Coast Guard at about 8:01 p.m. and said the boat was taking on water.

Crews responded to the area, which is located about 10 miles west of St. Petersburg, and rescued all three people, the report said.

No one was injured.

Officials said the boat had the appropriate safety equipment on board, including a marine band radio, flares and flashlights, which helped the Coast Guard crew quickly find the boaters.
