Vice President Joe Biden made campaign stops Wednesday across Florida.

A grassroots event was held Wednesday morning in Sarasota, with another stop took place in Ocala.

Biden spoke to the Sarasota crowd about Medicare, among other topics, today at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium.

Later in the day, Biden was in Ocala at the Discovery Center at Tuscawilla Park.

With President Barack Obama still in the northeast touring Sandy's storm damage, Biden made the trip to Florida, with stops in the smaller, more conservative markets of Sarasota and Ocala aimed at narrowing the margin where Republicans usually fare well.

"With your help, we can win Florida," Biden told the crowd of about 1,400. "And if we win Florida, the election is over."
