A new kind of fuel for a certain type of car is now available in the city of Inverness.

Two electric vehicle charging stations have been set up at City Hall - the first ones to be set up in Citrus County.

City leaders wanted to have a place for electric car drivers to charge up.

Student Desire Johnson said she is concerned about the environment and she thinks this will help in a small way.

"Recently, I've heard in my classroom that the ozone layer is being damaged way more than it was six years ago," she said.

City officials say the charging stations were paid for with a U.S. Department of Energy Grant.
