Abraham Luna, 30, broke down in tears as we sat talking to him inside Land O' Lakes Jail Tuesday.

He said his brother's murder two days ago is the reason behind the bizarre and violent behavior that led to his arrest Tuesday morning.

"My brother got shot the other day and I heard some boys talking about how they did it or might have known who did it and it made me really upset,” he said.

Luna said he flew into a rage and admits to assaulting a clerk inside a 7-Eleven just before speeding off in his white minivan, the wrong way up U.S. 19.

Deputies pursued the van as other deputies blocked lanes ahead of him. The van sideswiped a deputy's patrol car during the pursuit.

The entire time, he confirms for us that he was indeed naked, except for his work boots.

When deputies finally pulled him over further up the highway, Luna also admits he got out of the van and ran away.

Deputies quickly caught up to him and arrested him. Luna said he regretted his actions.

"A smart man would've stopped,” he said. “I thought I could get away. Who gets away from 20 cops?"

Still, Luna denies being the naked man witnesses saw running naked through the Tarpon Springs Golf Course near his home just hours before his arrest, despite being the police department's only suspect.

Regarding Luna’s claim his brother was shot to death over the weekend, a Tarpon Springs Police Dept. spokesperson told us it's simply not true.

In fact, detectives were sent out immediately following our media inquiries, and found Giovanni Luna alive and well.

Luna told us he wasn't under the influence of any drugs or alcohol at the time of his arrest.

He is facing charges of aggravated assault, battery, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, reckless driving and fleeing to elude. He said plans to plead not guilty to all of the charges by reason of temporary insanity.
