Police said they discovered assault weapons while arresting a man who is accused of beating up a parking enforcement officer Saturday afternoon.

Son T. Uong of Lakeview Road in Clearwater faces armed burglary, battery and resisting arrest charges.

Officers say Uong injured Officer Norton McGiffin in City Lot 32 on S. Gulfview Blvd.

During the arrest, police said they seized a White 2001 Lexus FL, a Sig Sauer 556 Assault Rifle, Sig Sauer P238 380 Caliber Handgun and 300 rounds of ammunition.

Officers say Uong became enraged over a parking ticket and blocked McGriffin's path.  Uong allegedly got out of his Lexus and tried to remove McGriffin out of his vehicle. McGriffin called for help on his radio.

Responding offers say they heard Uong say, "Someone is going to die today." Officers say they discovered a fully loaded Glock handgun in Uong's pocket.

McGriffin received minor injuries.
