Pasco County sheriff's detectives believe a man they say defrauded three people by using Play-Doh to repair their damaged cars may have more victims.

Nicholas Johnson, 33, of Port Richey was arrested last week and charged with retail theft and scheming to defraud.

Detectives say that in each case, Johnson claimed he was going to make permanent auto body work repairs, but instead used the toy compound - originally descirbed as Silly Putty by detectives - and wax to cover up the damage.

Johnson claimed he would return the next day to finish the repairs, but he never did, detectives said.

Detectives say Johnson found his victims by driving around neighborhoods and parking lots and approaching people who needed body repair work. He was arrested last Thursday and released from jail on $5,150 bond.

Anyone who had similar contact with Johnson is asked to contact Det. Bruce Cohen at 1-800-706-2488, ext. 7213.
