A Tampa police officer and Hernando County deputy have been cleared in the death of a naked woman in Spring Hill.

According to Bay News 9's partner paper, the Tampa Bay Times, the State Attorney's Office has cleared Deputy Rocky Howard and Officer William Mechler in the death of 42-year-old Inga Marie Swanson.

Investigators said Swanson was acting strangely at the time of the incident. She had been seen walking naked around the area prior to the shooting.

Later that day, when she pointed a gun at the officers and refused to drop it, the men said they were forced to fire on her.

A toxicology report found marijuana in the woman's system, but no other drugs.
