The teacher arrested Thursday for an alleged sexual relationship with a 12-year-old boy was given a $50,000 bond today.

In her first court appearance Friday morning, 29-year-old Ethel Anderson was told she was entitled to a bond by Hillsborough County Circuit Judge Walter Heinrich, according to Bay News 9's partner newspaper the Tampa Bay Times.

Anderson faces three counts of lewd battery and two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation. Bail was set at $25,000 each for the lewd battery and lewd and lascivious molestation charges.

Heinrich ordered that Anderson have no contact with the victim or any witnesses in the case.

In attendance at the first appearance were Anderson's husband Michael, 30, father-in-law Gene Anderson and a family friend.

Anderson is a 5th grade teacher at Mango Elementary. The 12-year-old boy is not a student at her school.

Anderson received the Diversity Educator of the Year award last year at Mango. She had taught there since 2006 and had no marks on her teaching record.
