The trial of a woman accused of murdering her co-worker at a Tarpon Springs Publix has been delayed.
A judge decided to postpone the trial of Arunya Rouch on Friday. The judge granted the delay to allow a psychologist to evaluate Rouch's mental status.
Rouch's attorney has argued she is not mentally fit to stand trial for murder.
A new hearing is scheduled for March 15.
Fired Publix employee allegedly shoots, kills co-worker
Rouch is accused of murdering Greg Janowski in the parking lot of a Tarpon Springs Public in 2010 after store managers fired her.
In 2010, Tarpon Springs police said a fired Publix employee shot and killed the former co-worker in the store's parking lot.
Rouch, then 41, was charged with first-degree murder.
The shooting happened at the Publix on U.S. Highway 19 near East Tarpon Avenue in Tarpon Springs.
Police said after shooting Janowski, Rouch walked inside the store in an attempt to kill other employees.
Two Tarpon Springs police officers responded and were shot at when they confronted Rouch.
An officer returned fire and hit Rouch, who was taken by helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center, where she underwent surgery.
Neither officer was injured, but one was struck by at least one of the suspect's bullets in his utility belt.
