This has been a deadly weekend for motorcycle riders in the Bay area.

Between Saturday evening and early Sunday morning, three riders ranging in age from 21 to 70 were involved in separate fatal crashes on Bay area roads.

The crashes occurred in Pasco, Hillsborough and Hernando counties, and only one involved another vehicle.

At 5:25 p.m. Saturday in New Port Richey on Saturday, 21-year-old Quintin Humphrey of Hudson died at the scene of a crash with a car.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Humphrey was riding a 2001 Triumph south on Little Road in the left turn Lane. Delores Pong, 71 of New Jersey was traveling north in a 2004 Honda Civic. She paused at a yield sign, then continued through the intersection.

Humphrey collided with Pong's car and was ejected. He was thrown from the bike and suffered fatal injuries.

Then, at 7:15 p.m. in Brooksville, 70-year-old Orval Roy Estep lost control of his 2009 Kawasaki while traversing a curve on Emerson Road, north of Green Valley trail. The motorcycle rode onto the east shoulder of Emerson Road and struck a berm, causing it to overturn. Estep was ejected and came to rest on the road's shoulder.

Estep was taken to Bayonet Point Medical Center, where he died Sunday from his injuries.

And at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, 22-year-old Thomas James Nott of Tampa was was killed in Odessa when he, too, failed to negotiate a curve.

Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies said Nott was riding his 2006 Yamaha south on Crawley Road when he attempted to apply his brakes on a curve and lost control. The motorcycle slid into a tree and Nott landed in a culvert, where he died at the scene.

Investigators said all three motorcycle riders were wearing helmets and that alcohol was not involved in Humphrey's or Estep's crash. An autopsy will determined whether alcohol or drugs were involved in Nott's crash, authorities said.
