Tampa Police detectives are investigating vandalism at the First Baptist Church of Port Tampa.
The front steps to the church were tagged with the words "S.O.S." and “Believe in the universe Satan." On the church walls, vandals wrote "666" several times and drew a picture of the male anatomy.
Pastor Ron Satterwhite discovered the vandalism on Saturday morning.
"Saw it on the wall right away," Satterwhite said. "It made me sick when I saw it, because of the description of it -- what it meant -- and the satanic words that were on the front porch of the church.”
The church plans to have the graffiti cleaned up by Sunday morning’s service.
"Whoever did this doesn’t have to answer to me,” said Satterwhite. "They have to answer to God and I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes."
No suspects have been identified.
