A 46-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly choked a teenage boy at Tyrone Mall over Facebook comments that upset her daughter.

Debbie Piscitella of St. Petersburg and her 14-year-old daughter were at the mall Monday when the girl saw the boy, police told the Tampa Bay Times.

The mother confronted the teen and put her hands around his throat and started to choke him, police told the Times.

The boy's mother reportedly didn't want to press charges at first, but she changed her mind after seeing red mark's around the teen's neck.

Piscitella, whose last name is listed as Freeman in jail records, was charged with child abuse. She was released Tuesday on $5,000 bail.
