A couple was arrested in Kentucky and charged with the murder of a Pinellas Park man.

Gregg Daugherty, 46, and Marita Hutchinson, 37, were arrested in connection with the death of Gary Yarnell, 69.

Yarnell's body was found inside his home on 76th Avenue N in Pinellas Park on May 29.  Investigators determined Yarnell's death was a homicide and that his home was set on fire in an attempt to hide the crime.

Investigators said they also determined Yarnell's car as missing, as were several other items.

According to reports, investigators determined that the suspects had stayed with Yarnell for a brief period of time before he was killed.  They gathered information that suggested the pair had traveled to either Kentucky or Ohio.

On June 30, investigators said Daughtery ran from a DUI checkpoint near London, Kentucky, and that he was driving Yarnell's car at the time.

Hutchinson was found by Kentucky State Police at a nearby home and was taken into custody.

Yarnell's missing car was found abandoned the following day.

On July 16, Daughtery was located at a home near London, Kentucky, and was arrested without incident.

Hutchinson has been extradited to Pinellas County, where she is in jail on charges of first-degree murder and dealing in stolen property.

Daughtery is in the Laurel County Jail awaiting extradition. He has also been charged with first-degree murder and grand theft.
