Homeland Security investigators have returned to the home of a Largo puppeteer accused of developing plans for the kidnapping and cannibalizing of children.
Ronald William Brown, 57, a local puppeteer, allegedly had images of children in bondage and appearing to be dead on his computer. Officials said another image showed a naked child in a roasting pan. Documents indicated Brown had planned to cook the remains of toddlers on a stove and eat them.
Brown was arrested Friday on federal charges that he conspired to kidnap children.
Homeland Security investigators announced Thursday evening they had returned to the suspect's home in a mobile home park in Largo near 142nd Street to execute a second search warrant in the case.
"Due to the disturbing and troubling allegations ... special agents are executing a second federal search warrant," HSI officials said. "The agency takes very seriously threats to the safety and security of our children and is following up on all investigative leads between the HSI offices in Florida and Kansas."
According to a federal criminal complaint Brown spent months chatting online with a Kansas man, Michael Arnett, about kidnapping and killing children.
The pastor at Gulf Coast Church in Largo said there are no words to describe the shock its community is feeling and members are there to comfort families who have been impacted by the disturbing allegations.
Dozens of parents trusted Brown to bring their children to church every Wednesday. Children in the neighborhood say Brown never abused them in any way.
Brown remains in federal custody.
