A 14-year-old boy is wanted in the robbery-murder of 20-year-old Jeremy Mayers in southeast St. Petersburg earlier this month, authorities said.

According to St. Petersburg Police, a grand jury has indicted Franco Harris Thomas of Pinellas Park as an adult for first-degree murder. Two other teens, Brittany Detwiler and Scionti Hill, both 16, already have been arrested and were indicted in the case as well.

Police say detectives have been in contact with Thomas' family members, who told them they've secured legal representation for Thomas.

"In the past several weeks, (family members) have agreed to turn him over to authorities, but so far, they have yet to follow through, and Thomas remains at large," police said in statement.

Investigators say Mayers, who worked at a Sweetbay Supermarket, was lured to a home on the 3600 block of Sea Robin Drive SE in the Coquina Key neighborhood on Aug. 8.

When he arrived, the three teens choked until he passed out and robbed him.

Officers investigating what turned out to be an unrelated car accident in the area found Mayers in the front yard of that home later that morning.

Mayers was rushed to the hospital and later died.

Detectives are seeking the public's help in locating Thomas and are offering a reward for information that leads to his arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call St. Petersburg police at (727) 893-7780.
