The Citrus County Sheriff's Office says a fire destroyed a home on Redwood Avenue in Hernando just before noon Sunday.

There were no injuries and the home was unoccupied at the time.

Crews from the Inverness station found the modular home almost fully involved in fire.

They said the 1700 square foot home had fire come from the roof, all windows and all doors.

An adjacent garage had not yet caught fire.

The Sheriff's Office said the fire was under control 11 minutes after firefighters arrived on scene.

The Red Cross arrived on the scene to assist the family who lived there.

The Florida State Fire Marshal's office continues to investigate the cause of the blaze.
