Pinellas County officials still don't know what caused a glitch in their electronic polling system during Tuesday's primary.

According to Bay News 9's partner paper, the Tampa Bay Times, workers noticed the problem immediately after the polls closed.  Election workers couldn't transmit the vote tallies.

Instead, they had to drive the data on memory sticks to the main office in Largo, which held up the counting by an hour and a half.

Technicians think the problem came from the phone lines leading to the server, but as of Wednesday, they could not find what caused the lines to fail.

County officials have vowed to have it fixed by the general election on Nov. 6.
