HERNANDO COUNTY

  • All sandbag locations in the county are now closed. The current supply of sand and sand bags has been depleted. If supplies are restored, the following are the locations that will be open:

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

Hillsborough County is making sandbags available to the public from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., starting Aug. 23 at all three County Public Works Service Units:

  • South Service Unit – 8718 Old Big Bend Road
  • East Service Unit – 4702 Sydney Road

Residents must bring their own shovels and are limited to 20 sandbags per household.  Locations are open until 8 p.m.

PINELLAS COUNTY

Sandbags will be available Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.  Residents must have identification that verifies they are residents of St. Petersburg.  Twenty bags per vehicle allowed.

  • Northeast Park, 875 62nd Avenue NE at the Cardinal Drive entrance to Mangrove Bay Course
  • Frank W. Pierce Recreation Center, 2000 Seventh St. St, enter from 22nd Ave. S., east side of Seventh Street
  • Sandbags available at Archibald Park in Madeira Beach (15100 Gulf Blvd.), Sandbag filling station operational until 5 p.m. on Sunday and Monday (weather permitting).

POLK COUNTY

Beginning at noon on Friday, August 24, sand and sandbags will be available at the following locations (bring a shovel):

  • Providence Fire Station- 8936 Hwy 98 N in north Lakeland
  • Mulberry Maintenance Facility - 900 NE 5th Street in Mulberry
  • Saddle Creek Fire Station -3325 East Main Street in Lakeland
  • Jan Phyl Fire Station - 333American Spirit Blvd in Winter Haven
  • Ft. Meade Maintenance Facility - 1061 NE 9th Street in Ft. Meade
  • Cottonwood Fire Station - 126 Cottonwood Drive in Davenport
  • Solivita Fire Station - 1201 Cypress Parkway in Poinciana
  • Golfview Fire Station - 2902 Hwy 60 East in Lake Wales
  • Indian Lakes Est. Fire Station - 221 Hogan Lane in Indian Lake Estates
  • Bartow Fire Station - 110 E. Church Street in Bartow

CITRUS COUNTY

As a precautionary measure, Citrus County emergency management officials are opening three sandbag locations due to potential flooding from Tropical Storm Isaac. There are no other protective actions at this time.

  • The following sandbag sites will be open from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday.
  • County park at 4508 S. Grandmarch Ave. in Homosassa
  • 7490 W. Gulf to Lake; Hwy 44 East of Crystal River across from Dan's Clam Stand.

    These sites are scheduled to re-open at 7:00 am on Monday and close at noon on Monday.
  • The sandbag site at the Crystal River Fire Station at 650 NW 3rd Ave is open 24 hours.
