Pinellas County election officials said they have solved a problem with their electronic ballot system.

The device that connects the server and the phone lines - called a gateway - failed when the polls closed, according to Bay News 9's partner newspaper the Tampa Bay Times.

The was used in previous elections and tested before last week's state primary.

However, officials say now that the problem has been pinpointed and the gateway has been replaced.
