Bill Workman is being called the Willy Wonka of ice cream in Tampa. He creates unusual ice cream concoctions such as watermelon mint honey and pumpkin goat cheese, hoping to free your taste buds.

“We have a strawberry basil sorbet," he said. "We just really love to challenge your palate and offer you some flavors you may have never had before."

When Workman lost his job a few months ago, he decided to create his own place. He called it “The Revolution Ice Cream Company.”

He’s been creating from his own kitchen for only about a month and, already, he has sold more than 200 pints.

Workman has been looking into the ice cream business for the past two years. He says he’s been studying it to see if there was even a market for ice cream "with flair."

“The response is unbelievable,” he said.

But it’s no easy task making flavors like cinnamon brown sugar with bacon to revolutionize your thoughts on ice cream. Workman takes custom orders, mixes the ingredients and waits for his ice cream machines to churn out perfection.

Finally he lets them freeze for a day until what he calls “frozen gold” is ready.

“The flavors are different; it’s not something you would expect, but they work together," Workman said.

"Things like goat cheese and cinnamon. What?" said taster Alexandria Allen.

Workman is currently taking order through his website revicecream.com, but he hopes to one day get industrial equipment and a commercial kitchen to expand his business.
