A 4-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car while her mother was moving a vehicle at their home, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

According to Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Lt. Chris Miller, troopers responded to the 2500 block of 34th Avenue East in the Samoset area of Bradenton around 12:35 p.m. and found Daisy Martinez fatally injured.

"There were some family members who were maneuvering a car in the circular drive," Miller said. "There were several people out here, including a couple of children."

Sam Kasimir heard the mother's cry "help, help my baby," he said. He ran to help and attempted CPR on the girl, but "she had no pulse, no heart beat, no nothing, no breathing." Kasimir said the girl plays with his children every day.

Martinez was rushed to Blake Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The mother has not been identified.

"This is a tragic accident and a reminder to us all to be vigilant as you're moving cars around driveways where there might be small children," Miller said. "Try to keep track of everybody who is out there, and keep this family in your prayers."

No charges have been filed.
