There's a new form of outdoor entertainment in Manatee County. On Friday, TreeUmph! Adventure Course, officially opened up to the public.

"It's an elevated obstacle course," said owner, Aaron Corr. "It's in the trees.  It's all games from tree to tree or platform to platform."

Located on 14-acres of property in east Bradenton, there are five progressively difficult courses for adults and children ages seven and up.

The treetop tour courses are designed for all skill levels.

In total there are 76-tree top adventure games.

Challenges include wobbly bridges, hanging nets, bungee swings and several zip lines.

One of the zip lines is 650-feet-long and goes as high as 60-feet!

"I don't mind heights, so it didn't intimidate me," said Carey Miller, who was one of the first to try out the new park.  "You know you're pretty high up there and there was a nice breeze."

Despite being so high up, guests are always safe.

Everyone who wants to participate in the course is required to use a harness at all times and take a training course on how to use the climbing gear. Guides are also always on hand.

"If you run into trouble on course and you get tired and just can't do it anymore or you get scared or anything like that, our guides are trained to go up in trees and bring their ropes and lower you safety to the ground," said Kathy Corr, owner.

The new park is expected to be a main destination for locals and tourists.

"I think it's going to be a wonderful asset to the community," said Vanessa Baugh, Manatee County Commissioner District 5.  "In Manatee and Sarasota and I can also see it being a regional thing."

On Saturday and Sunday, TreeUmph will offer 10% off tickets for their grand opening.
