Bay area residents will get a reminder the next few days that it’s still winter.

Ahead of a cold front, a line of quick showers moved through the Bay area but has weakened.

Winds will increase and it will be chilly all night, according to Bay News 9 Chief Meteorologist Mike Clay.

“Most areas have hit the high for the day and temperatures will drop into the lower 60s by evening. Tonight will be much colder, especially compared to the recent warm weather. Lows will drop into the upper 30s in Citrus County, mid 40s to near 50 around Tampa Bay,” Clay said. “The wind will make it feel colder.”

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for the Gulf and Tampa Bay waters through Friday morning. A High Surf Advisory is also up along the Suncoast beaches for high waves and rip currents through Friday morning.

Temperatures will be in the 40s across the Tampa Bay area Friday morning with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s Friday afternoon.

It will be cool with some clouds and low rain chances continuing Friday and Saturday. It’s also expected to be breezy both days.
