The family of a Clearwater man stabbed to death while riding his bike home from work is sitting down for their first one-on-one sit down interview and only with Bay News 9.

As Clearwater police continue their investigation into the brutal stabbing death of Jason Paul, 22, family and friends have taken to the streets and to social media in the hopes of finding his killer. His mother and father are sharing their grief in a very personal and emotional interview.

Renee and John Langfritz said they are desperate to find Paul’s killer.

"It's very frustrating," said his mother Renee with his father, John, adding, "we still have an awful lot of questions with no answers."

Paul was found stabbed to death earlier this month as he took his routine 8-mile ride from his job to his house when the murder happened.

"I just can't believe no one saw anything," said his mother, Renee.

Renee believes her son was a target and that it wasn’t a random attack.  She said her son would never stop his bike for someone he didn’t know at that time of night.

When asked if her son had any enemies, she was quick to say, ‘no.’

Days after the attack, the family, along with Clearwater Police and friends would blanket the neighborhood with flyers.

In addition, several days ago electronic billboards were put up through Pinellas County in the hopes someone may know something who may happen to see one of those billboards.

Paul’s mother says she can’t drive past any of those billboards because of the picture on them.

"That picture that one there was taken Christmas Day," she said.  "And he was so happy that day."

That’s exactly the kind of kid Jason was, his parents say.  He was happy.  He loved his family.  They loved going out on the boat and to the beach.  Jason loved skateboarding.

Jason also loved his constant companion, his dog, Marley, who is now two and a half years old.  Jason got him when he was just 7 weeks old.

On Wednesday night, his mother showed us t-shirts he had designed.  She says Jason wanted to create his own clothing line.

He wore the shirts that his mother showed us and she said, she will never wash them.

"There hasn't been a day yet where I haven't had a breakdown," Renee said.

Will there ever be a day where the family finds closure?

"Can't close a hole in your heart that's left of this size by something like this,” Renee said.  “It will never close."

"For someone to do this, I cannot accept this,” said Jason’s father, John.  “This person needs to be caught and brought to justice."

And as for whoever took their son’s life, his mother says she has no doubt they will pay for their crime.

"I will never give up looking for whoever did this to him,” Renee said.  “And I will find them."

If there’s anything good that has come out of this tragedy, Jason’s parents say hundreds turned out to his funeral.  It was a surprise to them as well as a testament to how many peoples’ lives he touched.
