With the newborn delivered in a Polk County McDonald's bathroom now receiving medical care at All Children's Hospital, the child's mother also is coming to St. Petersburg to be with the baby.

According to family members, Shardonnay Hill, 20, was only 6 months pregnant when she gave birth Monday. They stopped at the McDonald's at 416 W. Central Ave. in Lake Wales at about 9:30 a.m.

"I stopped to get a cup of coffee," said Hill's grandmother Barbara Albert. "She stopped to use the bathroom."

The grandma said a few McDonald's employees helped Hill give birth while talking to a Polk County dispatcher. The baby was born a little more than 5 minutes into the call.

Albert said the baby, about 1 pound, was not breathing when he was born but luckily at that point paramedics had arrived.

The grandma said the baby was transported to Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center in Davenport and was later airlifted to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg.

Albert said the baby boy's name is Joshua Murphy. The baby is doing well but will stay at All Children's until he is at least 5 pounds.

Hill was stay at the Ronald McDonald house while the baby is trying to get healthy.
