A Tarpon Springs mother was arrested after police said she bought alcohol for five underage kids, one of them her own child.
Mellisa Louise Mundell, 43, was arrested and then released on her own recognizance Tuesday morning and is now facing five counts of child neglect.
According to the arrest affidavit, Mundell took three of the juveniles to the liquor store where she bought the booze. They then returned home where, police said, she gave them the alcohol and then went into another room.
When she returned, the affidavit said four of the five kids were vomiting and had to be taken to local hospitals for alcohol poisoning.
Mundell told police she had made a “huge mistake,” saying she just wanted to be a “cool mom.”
