The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating what led a motorcyclist to crash on Interstate 75 early Friday morning before he was run over by a sport utility vehicle.
Troopers say Corey Allen Lynn, 25, was hit by a 2003 Ford Expedition while lying alongside his Harley Davidson motorcycle on I-75, just south of State Road 574 near Brandon.
Lynn, of Thonotosassa, apparently crashed while riding the bike just after 2 a.m. and lay injured in the roadway.
The SUV driver, Ronald L. Fields, 56, of St. Petersburg, told troopers he did not see Lynn or his bike and ran into both. Fields was not injured.
Lynn died a few hours later at Tampa General Hospital.
