A former Indy car race driver who lives in Naples was arrested on child pornography charges.

Jon Herb was charged in Collier County Friday with 246 counts of possession of child pornographic materials and sexual battery on a child under 12. He is being held on bond of $2.46 million.

According to local TV reports, deputies met with Herb's wife at a North Naples substation and that she told authorities when she went to use her husband's laptop, she found website pages depicting underage nude girls.

Herb's wife told deputies she went to the stored photo album and found images of her husband engaging in sexual acts with a child that looked to be 4 or 5 years old.

Herb's wife then made a controlled call to her husband asking him to identify the girl in the photo. During the conversation Jon Herb identified the young girl.

Jon Herb was taken into custody as he pulled into his Naples home, where electronics not already surrendered by the wife were confiscated.

Herb raced in the Indy Racing League in the off and on from 2000 to 2007, including twice at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
