A lawn maintenance building at Saddlebrook Resort burst into flames Saturday morning, causing a two-alarm fire.

About a dozen engines from Pasco Fire Rescue responded to the scene around 10 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Some viewers called Bay News 9 to say flames were visible in the area even though it was raining.

A cloud of smoke was captured on video by a woman and her children who spotted the blaze from across the street.

"I thought oh my god, I hope the people were OK," said Michelle Hutchinson. "I wasn't sure if it was a house."

The fire apparently was discovered by a Saddlebrook staff member who was walking by. The lawn maintenance building is only about 150 feet away from a gas tank.

The fire was contained within an hour and there were no reports of injuries. Due to the rain and wind fire fighters feared the worst.

"It could have been a lot worse. It could have spread to the building next door but the crews were pretty quick on getting to the building," said Training Chief Andrew Fossa.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the building was a total loss.
