Pasco County is known as the nudist capital of the world and it's being featured in a new reality series on TLC, 'Buying Naked.'
"There are a dozen clothing optional communities in this area," said the show’s star, Jackie Youngblood. "And when they want to buy real estate, they come to me."
Youngblood is a Tampa Bay area realtor who got her start in 2004.
"I tapped into the nudist communities simply because I have friends that are nudists and they would refer, refer, refer," said Youngblood.
Not only did her business take off but Youngblood also caught the eye of producers with TLC who offered her a show. A camera crew followed the realtor around for three weeks in August and even before the show aired, Youngblood said the commercials brought in more business.
"I've already gotten many, many calls, people coming to buy, people wanting to list their properties," Youngblood said.
Pasco County is also hoping to cash in on all the publicity. The tourist department has already revamped its homepage to include info on all of Pasco's nudist communities.
Tourism director Ed Caum said the hope is curious viewers of the show will search the internet for more information and when they come across the tourism page, they will see all Pasco has to offer.
"They can find our hotels there," Caum said. "You can see your dining, where to go shopping."
