When most people think of "juicing," they think of tossing some fruit and vegetables into a blender and hoping for the best.
But Kelly Lessem and her business partner Amy Losoya say they have the recipe for good health and success at Squeeze Juiceworks.
"The vitamins, the minerals ... they all stay intact for up to 72 hours, so that’s phenomenal," Lessem said. "When you’re juicing at home, you’re supposed to drink it within 15-20 minutes for it to have its full vitality."
The duo watched their business increase 400 percent from December 2012 to January 2013 and decided to take their juicing out of the home kitchen and put it on a commercial stage.
They hired eight employees to help puree, strain and juice fruits and veggies for seven to eight hours a day to keep up with demand, but they need more help.
They’re getting customers from places such as Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, Tampa and Sarasota. Even the snow birds check in before they come down for the season.
