Movie shooting continues in the Bay area for the movie "Dolphin Tale 2."

And Bay News 9 continues to have a presence in the movie. And on Friday, it all started at about 4 a.m.

Our morning News Anchor Erica Riggins and Photojournalist Jonathan Haas were in early, but not for news. For acting.

The pair was preparing to play journalist extras in Dolphin Tale 2. Their “call time” at the Clearwater Marine aquarium - 5 a.m.

They sign in, fill out paperwork and go to wardrobe, hair and makeup. And then they stand out in front of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in the dark. And they wait.

It’s Jonathan’s first experience on a movie set.

"So much set up goes into it,” said Haas. “We've been here for hours already, and we haven't done anything yet. So we're just kind of standing by and taking it all in."

Finally, Jonathan did perform one important job - positioning a Bay News 9 News truck and raising its mast for authenticity.

And Erica helped the 2nd Assistant Director explain how reporters would handle the story unfolding in their scene.

"So we were trying to advise them for when the person comes up would you ambush them? Would you be aggressive with them?” said Riggins, “Well, maybe at the courthouse but not for this kind of scene."

And the scene they were preparing for was kept secret except--

"We don't want to get in trouble but we have rehearsed with Ashley Judd!" said Riggins.

It was at nearly 9 a.m., four hours after they arrived, that shooting began on the first scene with Ashley Judd.

The crew is on is 8th of 46 principal shooting days in the Bay area. The movie crew is slated to shoot on Clearwater Beach on Monday.

The movie is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2014.

Look for Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez as well as Erica and Jonathan. She was also cast as a journalist in the movie, in addition to Bay News 9 Engineer Bob Walker.

You might remember just last month the movie crew shot a scene right in the main Bay News 9 studios.
