Freud the sea turtle was the center of attention Tuesday as he underwent a CT scan.

The Florida Aquarium veterinary staff and the staff at the USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS) teamed up to help him.

Freud was transferred to The Florida Aquarium from the panhandle of Florida, where he was found floating and suffering from a possible tear in his lung.

"He has a ton of air trapped in his body cavity. We think it's probably coming from his lungs, although we are not quite sure of that at the moment. However, when you remove the air and he takes a breath it fills right back up,” said Dr. Kathy Heym. “He's been doing fine despite his condition, eating and swimming. We just know this is something he can't live with forever. He's starting to have some problems as a result of it."

Freud may need additional procedures, depending on the results of the scan.
