David Jolly has picked up a celebrity endorsement in his campaign to fill the late Rep. C.W. Bill Young's congressional seat.

Bob Barker, the former host of "The Price is Right," appeared in a 30-second campaign ad in support of the Republican candidate.

"Folks, when you get to be as young as I am, you call it like you see it," Barker said in the ad. "That's why I'm supporting David Jolly for Congress. I admired David as he worked alongside my good friend Bill Young helping wounded veterans, protecting our seniors and children and by standing up for Pinellas with character and honor. "

The ad closes with Barker saying, "Because with Jolly, the choice is right."

Jolly is one of three Republicans running to fill Young's seat. The other two are Fla. Rep. Kathleen Peters and Mark Bircher.  The candidates will face off in a special primary election to be held on Jan. 14, 2014.

The winner of the Republican primary will face Democrat Alex Sink and Libertarian Lucas Overby in the March 11 special general election.
