A local star will be hitting the big screen soon.

Chance, a 4-year-old chimpanzee who lives in Sarasota, is starring in the new film The Wolf of Wall Street with Leonardo DiCaprio.

The movie opens on Christmas Day and is based on a true story about a corrupt stockbroker.

"He plays the part of Leo’s pet," said Pamela Rosaire Zoppe, who plays Chance's owner.

"In the 80’s, they were allowed to bring pets to the office on Wall Street and that’s what the movie is about -- Wall Street."

Zoppe said Chance really hit it off with the cast.

"He loved Leo, and Leo liked him a lot," Zoppe said. "They became pretty good friends. They work very well together."

While Chance knows some big Hollywood names, his heart is at home. He performs at Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary in Sarasota from Wednesday to Sunday at 2 p.m.

He’s not the only famous animal at Big Cat. Handsome the Lion also stars in the new Wall Street movie.

A bear at the sanctuary has also been featured on the big screen as well.
