A Winter Gardens man was killed in a robbery outside a northwest Tampa extended-stay hotel Saturday night, Tampa police.
Agustin Osorio-Pacheco, 41, and Nicolas Bravos, 33, were sitting on the tailgate of their pickup truck having beers around 10 p.m. at the Extended Stay America hotel at 4312 W. Spruce St. A vehicle pulled up and an armed suspect got out and demanded money from both men, police said.
Bravos handed over his cash, but Pacheco ran across the parking lot toward the hotel. The suspect ran after Pacheco and shot him near the entrance to the hotel, police said.
Both suspects left in a grey Ford F-150 pickup truck. Pacheco was transported to St. Joseph Hospital, where he later died, police said.
Both victims are live in Winter Garden and were staying at the hotel while working as construction laborers in Tampa, police said.
